Burning Man 2007

It was, again, quite a year. The team grew this year but the needs were as great as ever before. Each year, I understand more of the Father’s love and heart for those He has made and those who have been so trashed by satan’s plan for their destruction. It is a privilege and honor to be sent into this arena with the Light of life for those who will receive it.

Monday, the first night we arrived, an arson set fire to the "man", which normally burns on Saturday night. It was an eclipse and during that time, someone decided to set fire to the icon. The problem was, that there were people underneath the structure who narrowly escaped the fire. The arson was captured and arrested. The burning man council set out to build and erect a new man and have him up in place in three days. (hummmm. In three days a new man was raised up, that was significant to me regarding the spiritual implications of this event).

Many encounters turned into salvation's for those who were ready for life changes and some were brought closer to making a decision to come out of darkness into light. A camp across from us, (a sex camp) was the scene of the only death we heard about this year with 47,000 people. The biggest ever. In this camp, a man chose to hang himself from a two story tent and was not discovered for two hours. It was devesting to the camp and to those of us who were close. We had opportunities to offer condolences.

Our directions from heaven have always been non-condemning, totally embracing, love for those we encounter and for each other. This is a clearly non-religious walk as we enter this environment. We have understood not to be moved or shocked by how people conduct themselves or dress or undress themselves. Our fuel is the love of God and the same compassion that moved Jesus who went about doing good and healing all who are oppressed of the devil.

On Thursday, the new wooden man was erected and at the same time, a strong wind storm accompanied the placement of him. This wind storm blew with great force in one direction then circled a mountain and hit again with the same force in the opposite direction. After that, a double rainbow appeared. This was truly a year for signs in the sky that, to me, signified a God language indicating His involvement with those He loves. It was all too cool.

The anointing is growing. The hearts are softening. The Lord is truly raising up laborers into this harvest who will not overstep boundaries and take liberties that would hinder or sabotage the Holy Spirit’s compelling power to reach those He is drawing. Each year, I feel Him transform me, train me and equip me. Each year, I love Jesus more as I see Him encourage and restore broken hearts, broken lives and broken spirits. Each year, the battle intensifies but the fruit is worth it. Thank you all for your prayers, your financial support and your love for the Lord to help us go to burning man. I am forever grateful.
